Celebrating the Beauty of December

December 1, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ 2 Comments

Two years ago, I'd laugh if you told me December would become a favorite month of mine. December? The month that signaled the start of what seemed like an endless string of long, dark, and chilly days? No way! The first of December usually marked the point I would begin counting out on my fingers … Continue reading Celebrating the Beauty of December

On the Road: Travel Journal Tips

July 23, 2021July 23, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ 1 Comment

Vacationing in an RV is hard work -- but we love it! There are so many perks, but I especially love the downtime when I can work in my journal. My husband always chooses to drive, which means I have endless hours to navigate AND work in my travel journal. I find it’s the best … Continue reading On the Road: Travel Journal Tips

Dyeing Paper With Dandelions

May 11, 2021May 17, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ 5 Comments

Commonly regarded as an invasive weed in my part of the world, dandelions push their mighty heads through the grass every year announcing spring's arrival. They are a strong, persistent little weed. Technically speaking, though, dandelions aren't really weeds as they do no ecological damage to the environment. Instead, they are perennial herbs, much like … Continue reading Dyeing Paper With Dandelions

The Basics of Junk Journaling

April 16, 2021May 17, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ Leave a comment

Junk journaling is an enigma -- my YouTube and social media friends tell me this all of the time! I think it's the name that is misleading. I mean who really wants a journal made out of junk? They also tell me there's so MUCH information out there, they simply can't decipher it all. It's … Continue reading The Basics of Junk Journaling

Digital Printable Etsy Sale

April 9, 2021May 17, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ 2 Comments

I've recently been bitten by the digital printable bug and have been spending a lot of time curating and creating new digital collections for sale in my Etsy store! I haven't been that active in my store in the past, but have really ramped up my offerings because I found I absolutely love developing and … Continue reading Digital Printable Etsy Sale

New Garden Planner & Journal

March 24, 2021May 17, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ 1 Comment

It's springtime in my sliver of the universe, which means it's time to start working the backyard soil. I am by no means an expert gardener, but I do have a few raised beds I like to plant a variety of seeds and seedlings in and watch grow. Each year after a successful experience or … Continue reading New Garden Planner & Journal

Altered Winter Book

February 19, 2021May 17, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ Leave a comment

Have you ever made an altered book before? I've definitely altered books, but never made an actual altered book (keeping the book intact and ripping out the pages to create a journal). I had always admired them from a very far distance, but never tried. I found it quite intimidating. Do you leave the page … Continue reading Altered Winter Book

New Junk Journal for a New Year

January 23, 2021May 17, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ Leave a comment

A few months back, I made a new junk journal using the Crate Paper/Maggie Holmes Heritage papercraft line. I happened to have an old blue book that matched the blues in this paper perfectly. I totally lucked out and purchased the paper and embellishments from Joann's when it was significantly reduced. I did not alter … Continue reading New Junk Journal for a New Year

Mood Board Journal

August 31, 2020May 17, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ 1 Comment

Hi, friends! I can't believe it's almost September. Actually, I don't want to believe it's almost September. I love summer and if it were up to me, all summers (and flower pots stuffed with zinnias) would be endless. But, alas, 'tis not the case. So to prepare for the inevitable September, I was disassembling my … Continue reading Mood Board Journal

Easy Fabric & Paper Rosettes

August 25, 2020May 17, 2021 ~ ginamakesit ~ Leave a comment

Don't you just love a rosette? I sure do. These rosettes started out very innocently. If there were some scraps on my desk, I would start twirling them, add some glue, and realize they sort of resembled mini roses. And that's how my rosette obsession was born. đŸ˜‚ The best part is all you really … Continue reading Easy Fabric & Paper Rosettes

I bought two bunches of tulips before Easter and each stage of blossoming was more beautiful than the next. I decided to dry some of the petals in a flower press and store them in a vellum pocket in my journal as a keepsake. The whole process is now up on my YouTube channel —> YouTube.com/GinaMakesIt
It might be rainy and cold outside my window right now, but I’m bringing lots of warm, spring vibes today to the @graphicsfairy YouTube channel with this Spring Nest Tag!
Last weekend I was working in my yard trimming rose vines and magnolia tree branches, when I saw a little bunny family hopping around the hills beneath the evergreen trees behind my house. Those little bunnies stuck with me because later that day I sat down with the idea to make a Bunny in a Basket for my next journal page.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have been mesmerized by the night sky. In between the rogue Astronomy class I took during college one summer and present-day middle adulthood, I’ve never really learned as much as I have wanted to. I’m hoping to change that with some self-paced studies in my new Star Notes journal. Today I’m on the @graphicsfairy YouTube channel and blog talking all about it! đŸ’«
This morning on my YouTube channel, I’m creating these Romantic Layered Journal Covers in a step-by-step tutorial. I also just listed these two journals in my Etsy store! đŸ’•
I just uploaded a new Journal With Me on my YouTube channel—YouTube.com/GinaMakesIt. Recently, I've had the urge to start collaging and I think it sort of reared its head unexpectedly in today's video. It was actually snowing yesterday, so winter has definitely not left for the season, but warmer days are upon us. I can just feel it.
