Late Summer Lady — Free Vintage Friday

I was born with a terrible inherent creative flaw. I have an extremely hard time working on projects that do not mimic my reality. If it’s November, I find it near impossible to work on projects with vibrant spring flowers. If it’s the dead of summer, snowflakes and sleds kill my creative mojo. I move with the seasons and find myself linked invisibly with them, feeding off of their energy. For most seasonal transitions, I find it easy as one seems to flow to the next, slowly and with sense. But these last few weeks of summer as it transitions to fall is always a hard one. Mother Earth does not want to make up her mind. It’s not quite summer and it’s not quite fall. I’m in seasonal limbo and I don’t like it.

When I happened up on this late 19th century woman, I felt instantly at ease. I finally found something I could identify with during these strange few weeks. She’s perfect.

On Instagram and YouTube, a lot of creators have embraced the approaching fall with open arms. But I’m not ready to put my arms around it just yet, so I plan on diving deep into these feelings and squeezing as much out of this summer to fall twilight as I can.
