July has always signaled the middle of summer, so when I looked at the calendar yesterday and realized it was July 1, I couldn’t believe it. It felt like the summer had just begun. Now is the time we usually grab summer by the horns and and squeeze every moment out of it, from sun up to sun down as August looms, threatening responsibilities and cold northerly winds.
Until then, though, we’ll enjoy the spiky grass underfoot as we run and cannonball into the pool, plan last minute road trips around Lake Michigan, and look into the night sky in search of the big and little dipper.
When I cam across this vintage image, I knew I had to post it for today’s Free Vintage Friday. I love everything about this woman lighting her July stack of fireworks. It’s already in my summer journal.
The image measures 7.5 x 10.5″ so it’s perfect as a cover image or when printed multiple times on a page, as a journaling card. To download the high resolution image, simply click on the button below.
