Hey everyone! Today I am going to show you how I made this super cute Unicorn Birthday Card for a little girl. I have to admit, I was a bit troubled when I started this one. I kept going down the stamping/coloring path and was continually frustrated when it kept failing to scream little girl to me. I took a step back, thought hard about what I liked when I was a little girl and of course — stickers. Duh.
I started out by creating a side folding A2 card. So the white cardstock base was cut at 11″ x 4″. I scored it at 5.5″ and created my folding card base. The pink glitter background measured 5.25″ x 3.75″ and was place directly in the middle of the white base. I cut the pink polka dot bottom at 1.5″ x 3.75″ and adhered it to the bottom of the card, flush with the bottom of the glitter piece. I just eyeballed the silver strip and then glued it over the top of the pink polka dot paper.
I stamped birthday message with VersaMark watermark ink using the Simon Says Stamp Celebrate clear stamp set. I embossed the message with white embossing powder.
I did this on a scrap piece of blue paper and then trimmed it down and hand cut a little flag at the end. I adhered it directly over the silver strip on the front of the card.
There is where the card gets really awesome! I used some stickers from my sticker stash to create a little unicorn scene on top of the Happy Birthday message.
The heart is actually puffy and has little sequins inside. (Insert squeal!)
To complete the card, I placed a little pink puffy round sticker at the end of the birthday message flag. Unicorns, glitter, puffy stickers…what more could a girl want?
